■The Business Innovation Plan is a system in which a mid-term business plan is created based on the Small and Medium Enterprise Management Strengthening Act and approved by the Governor of Tokyo. The business innovation plan must meet the following two conditions.
1. There is a plan to undertake new business activities.
- Development or production of new products - Development or provision of new services - Introduction of new production and sales methods for products - Introduction of new methods for providing services - Research and development related to technology and utilization of the results, etc. 2. The plan must be capable of achieving a considerable improvement in management.
・Added value and total salary payments achieve the target growth rate according to the planning period. Example: For a five-year plan, added value of 15% or more and total salary payments of 7.5% or more. *Tokyo has approved a total of 10,179 business innovation plans since it began accepting applications in 1999 (as of the end of fiscal year 2022).
■The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Management Innovation Excellence Award is a system unique to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government that recognizes companies that have less than a year until the completion of their management innovation plan, by examining the implementation status of the plan, the ingenuity used to realize it, management indicators, etc., and recognizes companies that have achieved outstanding results. Awards are decided by a panel of experts based on interviews with companies, etc. This is the 14th time the awards have been held since 2010.
